I don't believe it will change anything. It may hold things up for a little while, but Obama will dance around it & probably try to ban religion. He's already well on his way to abolishing Christianity in the U.S. I've never thought I'd live to see such a crooked POS president get by with what he has. United States is becoming a socialist country as we speak.

I wasn't aware that a Supreme Court Justice can act individually.   I know the article mentioned that her action was joined by a U.S. Court of Appeals but my confusion over Sotomayor's singular action still stands.

I don't understand the machanics but it is pretty common for individual supremes to rule on temporary injunctions and such. Maybe its kinda like whoever happens to be the emergency room doctor on duty, temporarily patching up whoever walks in the door of the ER. :) Edited January 1, 2014 by Lester Weevils

Each justice is responsible for one or more of the Circuit Courts of Appeals. Sonia Sotomayor is responsible for the 10th district. They sometimes have to rule on things involving their circuit that haven't come to the full court.

This doesn't make sense because the USC knocked down a request for a request to review a case from a Religious School..

I don't have a clue why she did it but I am thrilled that she did. It may not hold but at least someone in the Supreme Court has finally spoke up against  it and that is the important issue. I think Roberts is an idiot for ever allowing the law to pass and then call it a tax in the first place knowing the majority of people where against it. I wonder what Obama promised him?........................jmho

HE placed his cards right, by calling it a tax, 2012 elections came around and the Republicans dropped to the knees, put some rogue on, and puckered up. if this new year democrats don't loose more seats, then we are not going to be in good shape for the remaining 2 years..

^this, and as the judge directly over that Court, it's her job to rule on petitions for injunctive relief that come through the 10th Circuit.

i loved the way she did it. She pulled one of Obama's tricks and did it while the President and most of the Congress are on Holiday vacation. That is normally what Obama does so she is giving him a taste of his own medicine...........Gotta love it................ :up: :up: :usa:

You should understand that even though Sotomayor did this has nothing to do with how she would vote on the matter if it goes

to SCOTUS. Could be some political spinning. Could just be another layer of subterfuge laid on top of the rest. It's all going to

end up with which political ideology is the loudest. The left and progressive right have been chipping away at everything for so

long, you almost never see it.

 

And we all had better be watching a bit closer.
