Here's the story: This afternoon, I took the bike out to Winchester to take advantage of the Hero-Gear 9/11 sale. I picked up a Spike's lower and a spare mag for my P3AT. There's more to the story, though.

You see, earlier today, I had to present a product to a client. Problem was, there was still development that needed to be done prior to the presentation. So I ended up pulling an all-nighter. No sleep whatsoever. By the time I got the thing hashed out, it was time to get in the shower and get ready to leave the house.

So, on top of this sleep deprivation, I still chose to make the trip to Winchester. On the bike, no less. After all, it uses less than a third the gas of the truck, and I don't need a lot of storage space for a lower or two.

You might be able to guess what happened on the way home. Since it was getting dark, I took the interstate rather than the fun mountain roads I used on the way out. Interstates can be quite mesmerizing.

Long story short, I started doing touch-and-goes about 20 miles out of Chattanooga, and continued to do so for most of those 20 miles. I missed the exit for 27 north to get home, and ended up going around the east side of town and coming up 153 instead. I can only guess that I was dozing when I passed the 27 exit. I don't remember very much about those 20 miles.

I did finally come awake when I realized that I had missed my exit. The sudden realization that I'd been dozing while riding a bike at 80 MPH in the interstate had an immediate and thorough waking effect.

There is no reason I shouldn't be dead right now. Those who read my posts probably know that I'm not a religious guy, but even I find it hard to ascribe this to dumb luck.

What the hell was I thinking?

That's scary. Glad you're still around to tell us about it.

Is impaired judgment a symptom of EBR syndrome?

I was my BN CSMs driver. His nickname for me was sleepy. Id fall asleep driving all the time. I was on 40/75 in knox heading west, past papermill dr exit awake but flagging. got to the west hills exit 1 mile sign and woke up under the west hills exit sign. I had been in the middle lane, at dusk, in traffic, for a mile, at christmas time, by the mall. Hit no one and came away with no injuries. I dont think it was a miracle just lucky.
