FSU vs. Auburn

First off I am NOT starting this thread as a part 2 of the "Auburn beat Alabama" thread and would really prefer that everyone be respectful of each other.

In the spirit of full disclosure I am a lifelong FSU fan but not so much so as to belittle someone else if their team is beaten by FSU.

I ran across this article discussing "Vegas'" opinion on the game, the two teams playing in it and how they come up with their numbers. I would have found this very interesting regardless of the teams playing. It may start off sounding like it is one sided but they eventually get around to talking about the other team as well. I'm not 100% sure that I agree with some of it but they are in the business of making money off of their opinions and do quite well at it. Anyhow, it's not the shortest article but worth the read if you're interested in the game.

I am another Florida transplant and have pulled for the Noles since I was a boy.  I think that this article was well written.  Auburn is a great team but they did beat both Georgia and Bama on freak plays just as the article stated.  I thought that FSU should be the favorite for this game but I was shocked that Vegas agreed with me.

Well I didnt read the whole thing, but that article pretty much sums up why games arent played on paper. According to them Georgia and Alabama should have beat Auburn, but they didn't. At the very least, this will likely be the toughest game FSU has played all season. I wont be surprised if FSU wins, but I think they are going to have to fight for it.

I'm inclined to agree with you about this being a tuff game and honestly I would be disappointed if it weren't. I will say that those guys that play things out on paper are correct far more than they are incorrect. They are in the business of having a VERY good idea as to who is the best team and how much better they are and I think sometimes that the games they are off on are in fact games that are won or lost at the hands of those big plays that cannot be counted on. I am in no way an "Auburn Hater" and have been known to pull for them on certain occasions (such as when they play Alabama) so that is one reason I don't want to see a blow out the next is that I would like to see Auburn play a good game to see how FSU handles it and if they win there will be no reason for excuses. Bottom line is I am looking forward to a great game of football.

Go Auburn War Eagle Tigers or whatever they call themselves!

You forgot Plainsmen, too.

"Auburn, the loveliest village on the plains". Compared to what, Opelika?

Going to be a great game tonight. I think Auburn has the edge for playing in the SEC.

Have you noticed how other SEC games have been doing in bowl games? SEC admittedly is a really tough conference but i'm thinking that gap is closing.. That is unless all SEC losses are a fluke. I'm hoping the game stays close through the very end!

I am a Tennessee fan, not an SEC homer, but the SEC is 7-2 in bowl games right now.

There's an old saying- Bear Bryant can take his team and beat yours then take your team and beat his. Saban lost the Iron Bowl due to poor coaching/decisions. Tonight's game will come down to which coach does better at leveraging their teams talent. Go Noles!

I don't really care who wins this game. I follow hockey much more than football. However, if Auburn wins, they have definitely earned it this year. They have faced some top level teams.

Well...I realize football is a long game, but FSU is really showing that they haven't played anyone Edited by KKing

FSU hasn't played  more than 2 decent teams all year. They don't stand a chance.Auburn also has the momentum behind them.
