So something for odd just happened. I was eating lunch in my truck at McDonald's and a car pulled in next to me. A gentleman stepped out and looked in my window and saw the rifle case in my sest. He walked around and asked to see my permit since I was carrying a long gun. I asked for credentials and he produced a handgun carry badge.... he then insisted on seeing the rifle to make sure it was unloaded since I wouldnt show him a permit. I refused, and told him he wasn't seeing shit, and that the gun was legal because it was unloaded, and he finally went inside. I then called the law. They showed up, asked me a few questions and went inside to question him while I went back to work. Lots of crazies folks, watch yourselves. Tapatalk ate my spelling.

I say it was the beginning of attempted robbery or would follow you later and try to break-in.   That just doesn't happen!

I guess a guy buys a badge and he is automatically a law enforcement officer..........I hope the real LEO's took his toy badge away from him for impersonating an LEO and took him to jail.............jmho

This reminds me of a developmentally challenged young lad from my youth who put a Western Auto rotating light on his bicycle and thought he could pull people over.

Awwww I probably would have said "Okay, no problem" and handed him my Kroger Plus card. He wants to be funny, so can I. What an idiot!

Well handled - what a very odd scenario. I probably would have started to talking to him in Pig Latin......and trying not to laugh.....but then again.....he could have been "shopping" as Runco stated. Kudos for calling LEO - you may have inadvertently foiled a "future" crime.

 alright which one of you was it!?

I can kind of narrow it down based on the times it came back to me.

We even considered throwing it in the trash but someone put it in there so I figured I would let it go. I honestly expected it to be in the box at the end but it drew someone in with all its shining glory.

I like that answer!

Spots that would have thrown up a red flag for me also. You did good by calling LEOs.

Really, just having that fake badge just seems to go to some people's heads. Or this was as Runco suggested...the beginning of something else.

Either way, good response to him. And alerting the real cops was the right thing to do.
