kidd trigger install problem

Recommended Posts

Posted

my wife got me a kidd single stage trigger for my magnum research 10/22  . i got it installed but when i slide the bolt back it hits a "stiff" spot. it slides free until the last little bit and then it gets stiff. i disassembled it and put the factory trigger group(mostly plastic  ) back in and it does the same thing but not as bad. is this normal? nothing is binding that i can see. it will go all the way back and lock. everything else seems ok, although i have not fired it yet(waiting to figure this out first).

merry christmas :usa:

Sounds like guide rod to me. Kidd makes a super slick guide rod and its only $12 with 3 different springs. A lot of people will tell you to polish your original guide rod but that can cause more problems with the charging handle binding "due to you actually making the rod smaller as you polish it" . Another trick is to either have your bolt reworked by Que. He will square up the bolt face, pin the firing pin, and radius the rear of the bolt where it contacts the hammer for smoother operation. Just google Que's bolt work.
