Night sights for XD?

I carry an XD-40 sub-compact and didn't even think about buying one with night sights.

Any suggestions/tips on specific sights and where to purchase or have installed? I live in Old Hickory/Hermitage.

I have XS Big Dot sights and are great for old eyes.

I have Truglo TFO's on my XD45, i like them but have had trouble with the sights failing. The rear left pipe went first and Truglo replaced it for free (2-3 months after having them put on) and the front is noticeably dimmer. I probably wasn't as careful as i should have been with cleaning chemicals around them.

I bought mine from xd-hs2000.com and just sent them my slide and had it back shortly.

May want to check before u send it to make sure they aren't doing alot of duracoat at that time or it my be a while before u get it back.

I have Trijicon's on my bobtail commander, the tfo will be replaced with them if they go out completely again on the xd.

I have the Trijicons on my XD-40 V10 service as well. Specialty Arms II in La Vergne installed them and did a great job on the installation.

TFO's are awesome! I 've had them on two different XD's and never had a problem. I would recomend the yellow green combo. I got them for daytime more than night and they are super bright. Check over on XDTalk.com for more options. xd-hs2000.com is about as good as it gets for install and price.

BTW - I've only heard about the pipe issue recently and over the last couple years I hadn't heard anything about it. I tend to think it is a relativley minor issue with some sights.

Lots of people here have problems with the pipes coming loose, although my wife's Glock 19 has them and they have held up well. FWIW, several locals have been unhappy with TruGlo's customer service. Based on how TFOs do on other guns and how TruGlo balks at taking care of them, I probably would not buy them again. My wife loves them, though.

I've got a set of green dot Meprolight's on my XD-9, they're still going strong and bright after three years and 9k rounds.

I have these on my primary defense semi-autos (personal G19 and issued XD45). And my eyes are only upper 30's.
