I have an old George H Daw 7 shot BP double action revolver oct. barrel with display case and all hardware to go with it, gun is in good-great shape. can anyone give me any information on this gun as to why they are so expensive??

Because it's old (Late 1850's- Early 1860's) and likely fairly rare.

A gun that old, with all it's accessories, in that shape, that made it's way from London, England probably isn't something you'll find on a regular basis.

Post some pictures.

all i really know about this one is my uncle bought it from a friend for $75 back around 1970 and sold it to me for $200 a couple months ago. i really am having a hard time finding any information on the company that made them or when it was made. i did find 2 for sale made by the same person but didnt have the oct barrel like mine has and they were both over $6,500! I haven't told my uncle, don't know that i should. he might want it back, lol

THAT IS AWSOME, I LOVE OLD GUNS ESPECIALLY THE STORY BEHIND THEM .

I have an old Allen wheelock .22 short revolver boot gun that my 4th great grandpa used in the civil war. he was in the union army he took it off of a dead soldier and carried it and used it! he was with sherman in the burning of atlanta and the march to the sea. it really is one of my prized guns that i have because of the family history behind it....you don't find these ones everyday!! my grandma gave it to me because she knew i was the only one in the family that would really appreciate it and she is right! i do!!!
