Kinda of tired of reading non-gun posts!

I am rechecking my permanet collection to make sure I am well rounded.  What is your top 10 suggestions that every red blooded Tennesseean must have in their permanent collection.  One rule, do not name makes, i.e. Glock, Colt, Sig, etc. just class of gun.  I don't want a Ford vs. Chevy debate (not today, maybe another boring day)!

Here is mine:

1.)  Bolt Action 22LR Rifle, check

2.)  12 Ga. Double Barrel, check

3.)  Semi auto 22LR rifle plinker, check

4.)  Large/Medium frame semi-auto pistol double stack, check

5.)  1911 type pistol (need)

6.)  Large caliber revolver (need)

7.)  AR style centerfire rifle, check

8.)  Defense style shotgun, check

9.)  22LR plinker pistol, check

10.) Centerfire Bolt Acton Rifle greater than .24 caliber, check

I have many other firearms, but this is my top 10.  What's yours?

Rather than 10 different types I'd rather have just three or four types and lots of spares. My essentials would be 22 rifle, 9 mil handgun, and AR or AK variant. Anything else is just nice to have. But I'm not sure what a permanent gun collection is, as opposed to a temporary one.

I don't know that I could or can put together a list like this. I guess I'm just too wishy-washy to pick.

Maybe a good bolt action 22, a couple of good revolvers in38/357 to a 45acp version, a good matching caliber lever action rifle, a good 12ga, and an auto loader or two in 9 and 45.

I guess that's where I would start.

I think what he meant by permanent, is guns that you think you should always have. And everything else is stuff you would like to have or stuff you dont mind trading/selling.

For me I dont know that I could do 10 as must haves. But I could do a few

Some kind of handgun-revolver or autoloader, which ever you like, in a common caliber

Shotgun in 12ga or 20ga

Autoloading rifle in a common caliber

22lr rifle and pistol, not really a must have for me but could be for others.

My list

9mm autoloader, Glock of course

12ga pump

AK, but now getting into ARs

I have a 22lr autoloading rifle no pistol, but dont shoot it much.

Interesting question...I look forward to reading others' responses. I couldn't possibly narrow it down to 10, though.

Maybe:
-good, common 9mm semi/pistol for edc.
-ar15 type rifle for home/civil defense
-.22 lr of some type for feasting on rodents
-12 gauge of some variety for feasting on birds

With that, my needs are covered. It's the "everything else" that gets me...

I think I have all I need but then how many guns does it require to protect you and your home. I have 5 semi auto  pistols in 2 different calibers and 2 long guns both in 22 Mag WMR. I would like to own a 20 gauge semi auto shotgun with Improved cylinder barrel for OO buck or slugs but other than that I'm  comfortable with what I have. I have shopped the 20 gauges some but everyone must think the ones they have are layered in gold with the prices they have on them..........jmho

1. 10/22, no doubt this is a must for any collection
2. Break action 12 gauge, easy to learn easy to use easy to fix
3. Defensive Rifle, AR would be my choice
4. Defensive 12 gauge pump, Mossy and Rem the obvious choices
5. Medium/Long range hunter, Mosin is too cheap to pass up
6. Long range offensive/big game, .338 Lap
7. Large caliber revolver, covers defense and hunting
8. High capacity semi-auto defensive handgun
9 and 10 would just be more money than sense guns (no offense if you have one and I would love to be your friend :D ) maybe a gold plated 50 AE and a Barrett anti material.
