Here is 10 minutes of slow motion impacts with various bullets and various targets. I have literally watched this video at least 20 times over the years.

The thru and thru shots, with total penetration were awesome.

 

The gel block hits were frightening.

 

The shotgun(?) pellets were the greatest.

 

But I don't want to be shot with any of them.

Great stuff.... Bullet is obeyin the the First Law of Thermodynamics (...i think...Energy can neither be created nor destroyed; it just changes it's form... "Kinetic to thermal", in this case....) converting kinetic energy (...motion...) into thermal energy (...bullet heats up and melts from the impact...)... If it's goin fast enough (...like an armor piercing round...) it will develop enough energy to melt thru the metal plate ...
