Target shooting in a state Park?

I am fixing to go back to shooting in a state park , hadnt been there in about 5 yrs. and i was wondering what if the park ranger or the BATF was to come by and asked to check out my guns! The reason i am asking is that i have come on several forums across people saying that is what happened to them and they all complied! The ranger at the one i used to go to and will again does stop by on an hourly basis or so and just looks around and says hello! If he was to ask to check out my weapons i would politely tell him no, if the BATF was to ask i would tell them to F--k off! I was just curious if they have the right and or authority do check out my guns and what if and or anything they could do if i refuse, as i will? Sort of almost reminds me last time the cops stopped me for speeding and they asked to search my car and i told him hell no! The SOB called a K-9 unit and rover according to the handler smelled something, and those SOBS searched my vehicle top to bottem and could not find anything despite according to them rover smelled something illegal. Probably one of my 2 dogs, who had been in vehicle earlier! I did find out later that my vehicle as well as myself fit the desc. on a BOL! So that mess cost me about 1 1/2 hrs. in time!

When i complained to the police dept. the next day i was told that rover does not have to sit down in order to point out a contraband and the handler swears that rover smelled something, I dont do and never have done drugs and nobody else drives my car so i dont get it! So the SOB cop just lied and those SOBS ended up searching my vehicle, am still pissed thought about getting lawyer but to expensive! Thank You!

I'm not sure. But I think I'd call these guys and see what they say:

You realize that a park and a forrest are 2 different things and different rules apply? As far as I know a state forrest is not policed by a park ranger...you can't carry a weapon of any kind into a park outside of hunting season. If you discharge one, you'll likely go to jail.

There is a shooting range there and is open 5 days a week!

You probably don't have to "legally" let him inspect your weapons, however he doesn't have to let you shoot there either.

Seems the park ranger could be compared to the RSO at a private range and is simply wanting to make sure things are being done in a safe manner.

Thats probably a WMA, which might be located on a state forrest, but its managed by the twra. Different rules.
