Hey Redd you got anything like this? Its the smallest one I've got lol, just kidding. Picked this one up this past summer, got another same size that I've had for over 25 yrs. Have cooked no telling how many stews in it. This one needs to be cleaned and reseasoned. 20131222_140624.jpg

What do you guys use for seasoning? I've used Crisco, plain non-stick cooking spray (which actually seems to work best), & meat fat/oil, but I find myself having to reseason a couple of my pans every few uses. It's the same pans each time too. Any suggestions of what I can use or do to get that beautiful black finish to stay put better? Thanks & really enjoying the thread.

A large kettle is one thing we do not have, they are hard to come by.

As far a getting the black to stay,cook in it, clean it with a plastic scrub

pad, dry it very well(hot stove eye), keep a coat of bacon grease on them.
