BTW, I have a openly gay cousin.

That's kinda like saying, "I went to school with a black guy". I know enough homos to redecorate Caesar's Palace. They're just regular folks to me. Even took one to Stones River one day. He shot a couple of my .45's and at least one of my AR's... no flinchin' :)

When it comes to what I say or write, yeah...I do get upset when people purposely misquote me or actually change my words and present them as mine. It's important to me in any medium but especially so on an internet forum when what we write is the ONLY way to express one's self.

I understand it apparently doesn't bother most people here and If it doesn't bother you that's fine but that doesn't mean it shouldn't bother me.

They don't present them as yours when they make it clear that it has been edited. That's what "fixed that for you" means. You are the only guy I know that gets in a twist over that. I haven't done it to you since you let your preference be known. It's just a common practice.

Now, about that smurf thing... It can be treated :)

Part of the firearms community IS anti gay. Just check out TGO. The gays in the military thread may have been the best one. I just had to bring up the showers, just so I could watch some heads explode

Part of any community is anti-gay. Possibly even including the gay community.

It's too bad I can't think of something clever to "FIX" in the above...then again, I guess it wouldn't matter since it wouldn't bother you anyway. ;)

I don't know any anti-gay gays. I know plenty of anti Obama ones though.

I know a gay, black, albino midget.

Actually, I think you do too...

I hope there comes a day when being a homosexual is a non-issue. Unfortunately, for those who prefer they stay in the closet, it will require more and more homosexuals coming out. And not only the well-known.

I can't stand it when harley riders flaunt their bike ownership by dressing the way that they do. Or cowboys that flaunt whatever they do by wearing jeans and boots and satellite dish belt buckles. Or businessmen that flaunt business things by wearing suits!

You know what really grinds my gears? When gun guys flaunt their love for firearms with stickers on their vehicle and gun logo hats and tshirts.

Oh wait... *looks at hat, shirt & truck* never mind. :D

Oh, I think the most anti-gay people are often gay. Look at people like Larry Craig for example.

Now, admittedly, they aren't part of the community. That's a different matter.

Point is, a few don't speak for all of us.

All gay guys are anti gun, pro Obama democrats and drive a Prius. It's all in the handout they give you in gay training camp. :) The sad thing is, some folks will read that and laugh. Others will point and say "See? I told you them gays was recruiting! They even got a training class!"

Back to the topic at hand for a second, I read Chris' post this morning and the comments that went with them.  I commend him for taking a stance and being strong enough to be public with it.  There are a lot of kids out there that struggle because of peers and having strong role models will be good for them.  If Chris' actions here can help any one of those kids then it was all worth it.  And if it can help to open the minds of some close minded individuals in our community, then good for that too!

I had to sign a waiver when I didn't take the Prius, then I was asked to leave when I brought my own Coexist sticker in, the one made up of gun logos. It's okay though. I figured it out even without the training class.
