suggestions 4 accessories to go with Henry 357 rifle

a friend is getting a Henry 357 rifle for Christmas and I wanted to get him something to go along with it, any suggestions?

I got a good sling(leather), butt stock ammo pouch, and Williams Firesights for all of my lever actions. I like this setup best on my Henrys. Looks good and serves a good purpose.

Henry 357 is a nice rifle.

 

Round nose ammo, or even better flat-top ammo or hollow points.

 

I put one of those Cheaper Than Dirt nylon 3 point slings on mine, it comes with straps to attach to the stock and barrel without drilling holes anywhere, but surely a leather sling would be more authentic.

A S&W 686 would go really well with that Henry.

 

 

On a serious note, though, give him some tannerite.  He'll have a blast breaking in his new lever gun.

I like the Williams sights, but I have no idea if they make them for the Henry rifles.

Marbles tang sights are really nice and windage adjustable. Skinner makes a very nice peep that fits in the dovetail.

I have one on my Henry, you might have to call them derectly. I was up at their factory and shopped there. I could not find another online anywhere, so I think they have things at the store that they do not sell online.

If you get a peep sight, get one that mounts at the back of the receiver, close to the eye.

 

Once upon a time there was a thread here with some absolutely gorgeous leather slings and butt stock ammo pouches.  Probably too late to get one for Christmas, but they sure were nice.

+1 on the other suggestions, I have the leather sling and peep sight on mine. I have a Marlin 1894C 38/ 357 and my wife got me a flip up target something like this; http://www.milestactical.com/SS6306.html. That an an ammo can of Georgia Arms .38 ammo and you can get pretty good with the old levergun.

Thanks for all your suggestions. I really like the peep sight, but not sure whether he'd like it or not. He maybe planning a scope (yuck). I checked around for some .357 ammo and didn't find a huge selection and it was sort of pricey for what you got. Lots of .38 spl. but didn't really want to do that.

 

So, I decided to get him a carbide die set and 100 158 gr. flat nosed slugs. I've probably got 100 rnds of once fired brass and a tray of 100 primers I'll throw in. He already loads for a .45acp, so hopefully he has some powder he can use. This would probably be more once loaded that what I would have spent on ammo, which is gone once you pull the trigger. I'm sure others not familiar with reloading will likely get him ammo anyway.
