Project Appleseed is coming to the Watauga Gun Club in Boone, NC, January 25-26, 2014. These two-day events are an excellent addition to the club and offer two important concepts, marksmanship and heritage. In regards to marksmanship, you will be given the tools and knowledge necessary to achieve consistent hits on 500-yard targets with nothing more than iron sights and a sling. In regards to Heritage, you will be learning about the beginning of our Revolutionary War. Specifically, you will hear what transpired on April 19, 1775 in Lexington and Concord. Unfortunately, if Americans hear about this date at all, it is usually told with more myth than fact. Project Appleseed hopes to change that, so all Americans can honor our forefathers who sacrificed on that day. 

If you have been to an Appleseed in the past, you'll want to come to this one and earn the coveted Winterseed Patch. For those of you who haven't attended in the past, this is an excellent opportunity to be exposed to 'real life' conditions with your rifle.

You will need a Centerfire and/or Rimfire rifle and approximately 400 rounds over the 2 days. Cost is $60 for adults and $20 for children 18 and under and free to Law Enforcement, Active Military, and Period Re-enactors that come in period attire. This event is available to non-members of the club. Rimfire and Centerfire rifles are allowed. You will need a .22 rifle for the 2nd day in the AM. The Range has an agreement with a local church not to fire centerfire rifles before 1:00PM.
