Broke down and bought my first glock (17) this week and will be using it to carry.  Dont really care about whether its an IWB or OWB.  Looking for comfort most importantly.  I tried to search this website for any info and what little I could find wasnt very helpful.  Thanks in advance for any help-

I'm not an expert on the subject but can certainly make an experienced comment. Two of my standard carry holsters are made by Dale Fricke. The OWB holsters pull tight against the body or waist which I like. They are well made. Has a number of choices for carry style. I also like the "Sticky Holsters" made in Florida. Simple. Read a statement somewhere that you either love a "Sticky" holster or hate them. Might check them out. Good Luck.

I have sold just about every cc Glock holster I have ever had except for my Glock Sport Combat holsters, and they only cost about $12. I do have a Safariland ALS but it's not really the best cc carry holster out there, I did the IWB tuckables for awhile but got annoyed with them.

I read that Kydex is recommended over leather?  I had my mind set on leather but was told its much easier to reholster with the kydex.  That was a first for me hearing such.  Thanks to all with the suggestions-

I use a holster that is very similar to (I would suggest the holster I use, but its no longer available) a Raven Concealment Phantom. It works well OWB with a shirt or jacket casually covering.

My first CCW holster was leather and I hated it, kydex is a gift from God. lol

Simply Rugged has some good prices on custom leather holsters; http://www.simplyrugged.com/. I have one of the silver dollar pancake holsters for a revolver but I don't have one for any of my semi autos, great quality and I really like the holster.

I have also found that Fobus paddle holster is a good general purpose holster and they are reasonable priced; http://www.opticsplanet.com/s/glock-17-fobus?sort=price-asc. I have one of them for most all of my semi auto handguns.

Crossbreed holster, once broken-in.. its super comfortable.   Carry a full-size Sig 220 almost daily with it, and I wouldn't even notice its on, but I keep on bumping into things with the handle.. :-\

You will hear a lot of shooters who are critics of the Blackhawk Serpa holster. However the model they make without the lock is the best holster I have ever used for the Glock 17.
