New York is feeling the lashback of their silly ways!

Seen New York is now running TV ads saying that for businesses moving into the state they can now operate tax free for 10 years.  It does look like they are actually getting hit in the gut pretty hard by the lack of revenues coming in on sales and corporate taxes; I read this report just out of curiosity from the Rockefeller Institute and they said corporate taxes not only dropped last quarter, but they dropped by 9.5%! (http://www.rockinst.org/pdf/government_finance/state_revenue_report/2013-12-10-SRR_93.pdf)

Funny how that works out, the personal income tax revenues jumped up 18.4% in the same quarter, and the ones making all of the money are moving their businesses right out of the state.  I'm really curious on if there is an "ah-ha" moment or if the places like this (California, NY, Illinois) are going to end up like Detroit not too far off in the future.

just a random observation

Well, Its their own stupidity that is causing their problems. I think they have lost several of their biggest gun and ammo manufacturers already and more are looking for someplace to go by the numbers. That also drives away all the companies that make parts for the Gun manufacturers and the ammo companies. If you drive away some of your most popular industries you can expect to  have your corporate taxes to leave with them.........jmho

If you work even one day in NYC, taxes are owed.  I am  beginning to wonder when they will start taxing business travelers in transit through JFK Airport.

Long as the owners and employees keep their ignorant liberal politics out of the rest of the functioning states, I hope some of those businesses move here or to likeminded states!

Ad/program is only tax free in certain "zones", and it's not for "moving" businesses, must be a new start-up biz only. So, not nearly as full tilt biz friendly as it sounds on first blush.

I guess when they start losing more businesses they'll realize showing everyone an infected sphincter won't instill anything nice to come around..,,,
