Boehner is a train wreck, especially with budgets

Doubtful we would see that ticket, Mac, but I will
vote for it if it happened.

Well, it wouldn't be as bad as Goldwater's defeat, since we are a more polarized nation now, but still very lopsided.

Too many ifs, right now, like if we even have a
republic by then. We may be a monarchy by then!
A monarchy with a lot of paper they used to call money.

I don't think we can accurately call ourselves a Constitutional Republic any more period. Need something more descriptive, like  a Consolidated Corruption or some such.

During a press conference on the budget Boehner said "I'm as conservative as anybody around this place". I think he accidentally put his finger on the problem. He thinks being a conservative socialist is the same as being a conservative and being a true conservative is the same as being an extremist whacko.

If it wasn't for seniority within the party, he wouldn't have gotten far.

Well, Boehner aside, I think the GOP has proven incapable of dealing w/ our financial train-wreck-in-the-making.  They will not change the trajectory of our finances, because they rightfully fear the American people don't have the stomach for it.  The choice is (was?) radical course change or calamity ... the GOP chose calamity.

Let's keep plugging away - trying to take out GOP socialists & replacing w/ anti-tyrranists - but the train is approaching a steep, unbanked curve at horrendous speed, so we need to simultaneously prepare for derailment.  I just fear the derailment will occur on the next GOP watch, and then people will blame 'conservatives' and 'capitalism' for the tragedy, and we'll lurch ever leftward.

That's because it has been set up to fail, whoever takes the reins. By becoming cohorts in the crime, neither party will prevail

unless they identify and act responsibly to the people who put them there. That means a huge change in attitude and it also

means "Potomac Fever" needs to be exterminated. Still, it will hurt many, one way or another.
