"Frozen" kid movie - flop

My wife and I took my 3 yo son to see Frozen last weekend. The preview seemed funny, and he was enthralled by the snowman who sneezes and his head flies off; so we decided to take him. 'Twas his first trip to the movie theater, no less. Boy were we let down...

This movie is one of those where the two funny parts are what they show in the preview. It's basically an animated musical. They broke into song, literally, every few minutes. Half way through it was, "Daddy, I wanna go home." We are used to the Disney Pixar films like Cars, Planes, Toy Story, etc. This was nothing like those.

I know this may seem like a strange post, but I want to warn anyone else with small children who may fall prey to this guise. Unless your kid likes musicals, good luck with this one.

If the movie does not get a 2 star rating it won't be made in DVD. Sounds like it won't make the grade but one never knows now days.............jmho

i have to say, we took our three to see it on sunday. our 6 year old daughter LOVED it.

if you have girls that are into the disney princess movies, this is worth a look.

You're the first negative review I've seen of this movie.  It sounds like it's an actual Disney movie in the vein of Beauty & The Beast etc... instead of Pixar, which is owned by Disney but is a separate division.

Yep.  My girls (7 & 3) loved it.  They already have the gowns.

This reminds me. I have been meaning to re watch the Toy Story movies! Even for adults those are some good flicks.

Come watch 'em with my kids...  While I'll admit they're good movies as are most of the Disney or Pixar flicks, they get old.

Thanks for the heads up! I doubt my 7 year old son would care for it. LOL

I was just about to say... we took our two daughters ages 8 and 4 and they loved it.  It's a girls movie, my 4yr old didn't even wiggle in her seat she was enamored by the movie. Me on the other hand, well like I already said it was a girls movie... I was ready to go once I ran out of popcorn  :pleased:

I felt the same as CCPT. Didn't care for it and the grandson was ho hum 'bout it. Much rather see somethin' Pixar, like Monsters, Inc. or Up.

Its a girl movie, if you got a daughter who's into the whole princess thing they'll love it.  My 6yo son wanted to see it because he loves all things Disney, by halfway through the movie he spent more time staring into the popcorn bag than watching the flick

I recently bought a new TV and added HD, first show that caught my attention was "Rango", pretty good IMO considering that's the first animated movie I've seen since Lion King.

I think the problem is that the movie is geared toward girls. I took my 9 year old son to the movies and he told me Frozen was a girlie movie so we went to see Thor.

I agree, most little girls would probably love it. For what it is...I guess not bad (not an expert in that field). I take partial blame for lack of research on this one.

I agree, research is the key to movie-going these days. I usually know pretty much the entire movie and plot before going out. With all the trash that's available to the public, and exposing the kiddies to it; I think it's a must to know beforehand what you'll see onscreen.

My girls 7 and 4 loved it and said it was one of the best they have seen. Not sure how I got out of that one but luck was certainly on my side.
