So is it worth the bang to buck or should one look elsewhere? I love supporting upstarts but I've been burned that way as well on my first build and while having learned my lesson in researching a product BEFORE making an impulse buy although this lesson cost me the trust I would place in a company that hasn't established a name for itself.

I got mine for 1/2 price during a deal they had on Facebook. There was a blemish in the finish, but hardly noticeable. It's a great barrel, but I'm not sure I would have paid full price. Not that it's not worth it, but I have a hard time believing a $300+ barrel is THAT much better than a $150 barrel, for my intended purpose.

I have three of their barrels. They are good people and their barrels are the most accurate ones I've ever used.
