Hello all! Anyone in or around Morristown?

Just wanted to make my introduction and say hello! I'm a younger guy and don't know to much about guns besides how to handle them and shoot em! I joined the site with the intentions of being educated on current/old guns and to get in touch with the local gun community. Anyways, I currently own a Mossberg 500 for the house and a Ruger 10/22 for fun. I soon plan on taking a course and getting my carry permit. With that being said, also in the market for my first handgun. I've shot 9mm and .40 and I like the 9mm better. Been looking at a Glock 19. I've held one and liked it. Seems easy to strip down and clean and not very many parts to learn.

Any suggestions on a class around Morristown?

Any suggestions on other guns?

Thanks in advance!

Welcome from Jefferson City. I took my class at Sevier indoor range. The Dandridge PD offers a class a couple times a month also.

Welcome cousin, we have a wealth of knowledge that will only cost you some time to look for it or ask a question, such a little price for the amount of information we can give you.

They have a class in Clinton this week end for $50. It is listed on Knoxville armslist.

Thanks guys, it'll be after the holidays before I get anything done. I think I might give M&M a try. They are the closest to where I live and I've heard nothing but good about them.

A few more questions I forgot to ask..

Who has the best prices on new guns in the area? I've found Mike's to be $40-$50 cheaper than most. On the Glock's atleast..

Are there any ranges around that have a good selection to rent and try out?

Walter State Community College used to offer a Handgun Carry Permit class through their community education department but I don't know if they still do. They did the academics on campus and then used the police range for live fire. You might give them a call if that location would be convenient for you.

As far as ranges to rent/shoot, I know of Sevier indoor Range in Sevierville, Tactical Advantage (Coal Creek Armory) in Knoxville, and Gunny's in Maryville. Although I don't understand it, it's apparently not politically feasible to open a gun range in Hamblen County.
