Red Dot's for Shotgun Hunting?

I am considering putting a red dot on a shotgun for waterfowl this year. Has anyone tried using a red dot for hunting, particularly waterfowl or may some skeet during 3 gun? My plan is to throw in on a backup gun and try it out but would appreciate input from anyone with experience.

I know red dots are gaining popularity among turkey hunters and 3gun, but I haven't read too much about duck and goose hunting. The gun I would likely be putting this on is a Benelli Super Black Eagle.

I put one on my Stoeger M2000 but I use it for deer and tree rats and can hit small targets of 6-8" at over a hundred yards with a slug. Tried it with dove and found it didn't work so well. Took too long to acquire a centered dot for quick shots. Was much better without it on dove just wing shootin' instinctively. Ducks and geese might not be so bad, though, since ya have more time for them, usually.

I have a red dot on my turkey gun but could not imagine trying to shoot a quick flying target with one. I suppose geese may not be too bad, but even with turkeys a fiber optic sight is quicker to acquire.
