Yeah, a few years back and someone would be swinging from a rope already.

I understand the need for secrets to be kept. The problem with many is the vast number of stuff being tagged with "Top Secret" that

probably have no need. Those within government who leak this stuff need to be punished. Usually they are for political gain or treason,

though, I guess. Any politician or other government employee caught leaking something tagged as "secret" or more should be, at the

least, immediately expelled, no retirement, nothing, or prosecuted.

I don't know what the law states on this, but the oath most of these employees or politicians take already covers honesty and loyalty

to the flag, not some politician's party. It should be used against him, very publicly.

Excellent video. I support this fully and have always done so openly.

WE DO NOT HAVE A NEED TO KNOW.

The American public does not have a need to know. All Americans are not our friends and they will leak or sell information to our enemies.

It wasn’t until the Vietnam War that Presidents were active in military and covert operations. You see how that ended. The Military and the CIA are run and manned by the best we have to offer; let them do their jobs.

what if there were no secrets? Then no one could leak them.
Just a thought...

Some things need to be kept secret. Information that, if allowed public access, might endanger military lives in a battlefield, for example.

Having worked on the inside ... a lot of stuff is classified because it's illegal, Congress knows nothing about it, and/or the actions are unconstitutional.

It's getting harder & harder for principled people to work in the higher reaches of government.  As a young junior officer I loved serving my country.  As a mid-grade officer I loved serving my sailors.  As a senior officer I despised serving my political masters.  Some decide to try blowing the whistle while others abandon ship.  I just think there's a fine line between those who wish to expose egregious, unconstitutional decisions to the correct authorities, and those who do it with reckless disregard.  After all, the oath the military members take is to defend the constitution against all enemies, foreign and domestic.  There are a lot of the latter in our federal government, covered up under layers of classified programs.

If this administration along with a few of the last ones were not so crooked and I mean on both sides of the Isle there would not be a need for all of these so called classified information files needed. They exist because these last few administrations have been so corrupt they need all of the back door deals and illegal acts they have created to be on record. If they don't keep records it is like a  person that tells a lie and forgets he told it but then he realizes he did say it and then needs to tell another one to cover up the first one. Soon all the lies are like a big Mushroom and without the classified records to refer back to their cover ups would all be blown. That is what most of the Classified records are. They are notes to keep up with all their lies is all.................jmho
