Honestly, can't tell you much about it.  It was one of those $100 gun show setups with the mount and long relief scope.  Was able to keep all the bullets in a black 5" target at 50 yards from a beat-up, bubba'd, barrel-chopped Mosin that had a tendency to keyhole when not cleaned.

jmec scope mount is good for the mosin

Yeah, I've heard the same thing. A friend gave me one of the cheap bases that goes on the sight base. I know why he gave it to me now. 2 or 3 shots and rattle rattle. A good quality base would be great though.

Do some searching on using some cheap pistol (or maybe shotgun) scopes on Mosin's.  I recall that being all the rage a while back.

I saw a couple of videos where people knock out the pin that holds the rear sight base on,then the base slides off.Underneath is a 3/8" dovetail, they are using 22 rifle scope rings with the 3/8" mount.Anybody saw this?

Yeah but, it only works on 91-30 rifles. Model 44, and Model 38 carbines don't have this as far as I know.

Yeah was gonna do that on my m44 but the rear sight base is on a sleeve that wraps around the entire barrel.

LER pistol scope or micro red dot would be a fun toy

A scoped m44? You're supposed to take your shot then stab your target with the bayonet!

If your close enough to stab it, the muzzle blast will burn the target up! Lol Edited by jeff43
