$399 Black Friday AR Build

Ordered 2 blems on Black Friday. Said to be getting here today. Took a bit, and to get someone on the phone to coordinate shipping was a complete nightmare. But they are finally going to be here.

They have always been super slow shipping stuff for me. But I do always get it.

I finally talked to them and said I needed them ASAP because I was going out of town, and the lady said she would try her best to rush the order. Said no promises because of the order volume they are getting, but apparently she pulled through for me.

No sign of my pistol kit shipping yet. I'm hoping they just didn't send the email and it will be magically waiting for me by Friday. If not, oh well.

Not sure it will make you feel any better but my orders from 11/18 and 11/30 both still say "processing" yet both have shown up on the doorstep in the last week. Now my blem upper ordered 12/6 says "processing" as it has since the 7th. No clue when but I have no doubts that it will show up eventually. I understand new built to order uppers taking a few weeks to build and ship, but one would assume that if the upper is classified as "blemished" that it is already assembled so no clue what the hold up is there.  :squint:  If the prices were higher I'd probably be raising hell, but for what I paid I can afford to be patient. If they could ever get their shipping dept. half as organized and efficient as an amazon distribution center they could likely raise the prices significantly. :stunned:

I've gotten shipping email notifications numerous times after various PSA orders were in my hands. One of them was sent 3 or 4 times, finally quit about 2 months after order was delivered.

The web/email interface with actual shipping status has never been one of PSA's strong suits.

well, picked up the blem lowers a couple hours ago.

they look spotless. zero flaws. didn't come in a box. just plastic wrap. but, like i said already, they are flawless.

The times I ordered from PSA, I just think of something else and when it shows up I think
of it as something special, a gift. :D
Pony express would be much faster, but that's
okay.

Perhaps it takes a while when ordering blems or seconds as they have to actually accidentally create a blem before they can sell one. I wonder if it's quicker to order pristine first production?

I feel goofy for having checked my order status 3 times per day......for the last 2 weeks now.

Hopefully soon.

Still waiting to hear anything about that pistol upper (That was ar15hardware.com)

So of course, it turned up this morning.

Perfect :)

I finally gave up and tried calling PSA yesterday, on hold for 20 minutes but had to run.  I called again today, after being on hold for about 30 minutes I got through.  Apparently my order from 11/30 is shipping today.  Finally!  Hopefully I can pick up Friday.

Quick update. My barrel looks fine but there have been some problems reported with one run of the PTAC uppers over on arf.com. Specifically, at least a few people received barrels that had faulty rifling. PSA is accepting returns of the affected uppers and sending out replacements.  Apparently, the uppers still functioned fine although I suspect they could wear out quicker or suffer in the accuracy department. Anyone who orders one of these, check to ensure the rifling looks clean.

I heard about this as well.  I got a PTAC from the Christmas sales too, but thankfully all seems well with mine.  It's eaten about 400 rounds so far with sufficient enough accuracy for me and not a single hiccup... which is better than I can say for my buddy's fancy Colt! (wink wink, if you're reading this! Hahaha!)

I'm stupid happy with mine.

I got a couple extra BCGs from the TGO lower buy, and a built out lower sitting in a drawer... really tempted to get PSAs $250 M4 upper next time they have them in stock.  It won't be a $400 AR, but close!
