I read that. Doesn't mean I understand the reasoning behind it.
If its got a groove diameter of 16 inches, then it'd be 16. I guess I'm just simple minded.

length divided by bore 66ft-8" is 800 inches divided by 16 inch bore equals 50

 

so a 16/45 caliber had a 16in bore and a 60ft(720in) barrel.

 

I dont know why they would call it a 16in/50caliber, that makes me think a 50cal round with a 16" barrel. Sounds like an AR15 chambered in 50 beowulf.lol
