Nothing wrong with a Kimber; it’s lonely at the top.
Time to make a move up.

I know it's all subjective. We all have our likes and dislikes.

For caster...it's 1911s in general.

For me it's Kimber. Had 3. For the money and issues...I'll keep my 400 dollar RIA. Shoots better and no problems. Edited by hipower

Of course it’s all subjective.

Saying your RIA will outshoot a Kimber is subjective. Putting your RIA and a Kimber in the hands of an unbiased qualified shooter at 25 yards and then looking at the targets would be objective.

Usually the Kimber haters are whining about the price. I’m just saying any top of the line mass produced 1911 for $669 new is a deal.

To quote Bill the Cat "PPHHFFFTTT".

I don't hate Kimbers. And don't believe I was whining about the price. I merely stated my personal opinion.

I may not be an "unbiased qualified shooter" by your standards, but having owned and shot 1911's from import copies to midlevel Dan Wessons and the higher end Wilson, ED Browns, and a few one-off customs.

I stated my opinion.

I'm no huge Kimber fan, only I believe they can be a bit over priced (all the advertising is expensive). That being said, I have a Kimber Custom II that is amazingly accurate and reliable,  for that price it would make a very fine gun.

My Kimber has been exactly what I expected from KImber - accurate and dependable.  In the price range it sells, I expect a gun to be well made and reliable.  I've heard several complain about them and say they'd never own another one.  My RIA is also accurate and dependable, at a much lower price.

I'd like to have several more of each. :)

I would prefer the SA in the ad for $729, although the kimber is a nice pistol at that price.

Not a fan of anything Kimber makes myself, but that was a good price for one

Id just rather own ,Springfields  - They had mill specs for 589 but the ROs I paid less for

at the range in Memphis

That's a great deal. I have nothing but praise for my Kimber. I remember shooting a friend's Springfield and the trigger was awful. I've never been impressed with Springfields, but to each his own.

I have to grudgingly agree. I "came into" a Kimber Eclipse Custom II stainless (4 inch bushingless fat barrel) that is reliable, has a fine trigger and accurate. You can't ask for more other than a different roll mark ... : / Edited by Djay3

1911 fan for life. I've have several versions over the years and would put Kimber up against any other stock 1911. Kimber is a nice pistol, a little pricey, but in my opinion, its worth it.
