Teaching has become an hazardous work environment. Schools decided about forty years ago to forfeit their rights to maintain discipline and order. New teachers entering the profession today don't last very long as reality smacks them in the face.

I've watched over the years how so many family end in divorce, with the mother getting custody of the children and I see, even with my own daughters, how mothers are basic failures, many times, at the kind of discipline that corrects a child's bad behavior. Sorry mothers but it's just a very true observation. They like to raise their voice and threaten but rarely back up the threats and are so often played by even the youngest of kids. I watch my 3 year old grandson play his mother, all the time but when I get on to that ass, he straightens up because he knows I mean what I say and have proved it to him numerous times, yet, he still hugs me and tells me he loves his Pawpaw every time they leave to go home or whatnot. During the 60's and 70's divorce was common as hell and resulted in much of this you see, now. Free love and casual sex did NOT help society one damn bit and it's not just the mothers, it's the absent fathers who disconnected out of selfishness. It's our and the previous generation's fault for most of this crap and we are getting what we sowed. End of rant.

The formula of kids and discipline in the home really began to get traction back in late 70's and early 80's and has only gotten worse each year. If anyone wants to put the blame on the parents I will agree but only to a limited point. I put 95% of the problem with our children on the Department of Human Services because they are the main driving force that stopped parents for being parents. When they began putting the Child Abuse Hot Line Numbers on the Television and told folks to report Child Abuse is when the Kids took over. The kids learned at an early age that they could use those phone numbers to control their parents. It worked out very well for the kids and it still does but as you can see they don't advertise them on the Televisions any longer. DHS was wrong in so many ways that is became unbelievable. Kids were calling up the hot line reporting their own parents just to be able to get the power over the parents and it worked well for the kids. When a child reported their parents the DHS would launch an investigation without any discretion what so ever and the news would get on it and drag the parents through the mud and in many cases destroy a family and many ended up in divorces. A truly abused child would never ever call that number for fear that the parents would not be taken care of and the child would be left in their care and the abuse would double of worse.  I only had one issue when my oldest son at age 15  decide he would test me. He wanted to go visit a buddy up the road from the house and I told hm he could wait till after supper to go and he stomped into the living room and threatened to call DHS and report me for child abuse. I walked over and handed him the phone. My children were never abused but they had heard from other kids how it works. He dialed the phone while I stood there and watched. He never took his eyes off of me. He hung the phone up before anyone answered and then ask me why I was going to allow him to call. I said, " you have never been abused and you know it." We live right on the edge of Cheatham County and it will take a squad car at least 20 minutes and by the time they got here they would have reason to remove one of us from this house because you would be very abused for the first time in your life." He never tried that again. Found out I didn't bluff. Over time and after DHS put the fear of Hells Wrath on parents so much parents were scare to death to correct their children. That in my mind is what stopped parents from being real parents and just became care takers and slaves to their children.........................jmho

For trying to set someone on fire, he needs to have a lot more happen than a slap. Canning come to mind. Heck if he was 17 instead of 15 I'd say lock him in a cell and let him die there. Can't think of many worse ways to die than burning to death.

Yep. Them DHS Hotlines and the fact that kids are being taught to tell on their parents for any little thing because it "might" be wrong can sho' cause some problems, too but it still comes back to parenting. Granted, some kids are gonna be a terror, anyway and some are just too laid back to ruffle feathers but not "generally". Kids tellin' lies to "try" to get their selfish little way has caused problems for friends and for my mother and step-dad. The thing with my mother's deal was outright coercion from the school over bruises we all saw Ann give to herself with a swing accident but the school convinced her it was due to sexual assault. Ann is mentally challenged by a fair bit and it's not hard to convince her that pigs can fly and the sky is red, if ya know what I mean. Took the friends and the parents several months to straighten out that BS. My step-dad being considered one of the top cops in the country didn't help one damn bit, either and some of the DHS (or whatever they call'm in your area) workers have the God complex and think they are beyond touchable. Beware of that crap is all I can say.

This child is obviously disturbed and needs to be institutionalized(or just end the gene pool there but that's for a society of barbarians or otherwise known as "not p***ies") and as for the parents, this is something that you should be able to pick up on if you were active in your kids lives.
