I don't reload but from what I have heard its hard to recoup the costs when reloading 9mm.

It costs me roughly 12 bucks to reload 100 9mm... compared to what is WWB at walmart now? 26 bucks\100?

So, the cost savings are there... and you get the satisfaction of making better and more accurate rounds than most factories can produce.

Brass is usually free if you have access to a range.

What sling said.5 years ago 9mm was cheap enough that it was not worth the trouble to reload it. Not any more.

That's the price that I figured out for the 9mm I reload. I have a single stage press, so the initial start up price is low, but is more time consuming than progressive presses. Progressive presses would be a higher start up cost but you crank out the bullets faster.

The question really is, is the money that you are saving with reloading, worth the time that you spend reloading?

Currently, I reload 9mm, .40 S&W, .45 acp, .38spl, and .357 mag. So I guess my answer to that question is Yes.

Last I bought was 8/11, was 19.97 + .10 ammo fee + 1.90 tax = 21.97

Thing is, don't reloading supplies go up about same % ?

If you buy bulk bullets and use fast powder you can reload CHEAP. I still (by shopping around) can reload 124 grainers ahead of Unique and Wolf bulk primers for less than $5 for box of 50.

Only thing that really costs is the time spent reloading. Easy to justify when it is raining all day long, but it hasn't done that in a long, long time.

Get your C&R FFL for $30....sent copies to Midway, Brownells, and Graf & Sons. Shop the deals and you can shoot cheap.
