Stopped in at Cash America #2 in Chattanooga today and first need to give them some props (At least from my experience), the staff is pretty darn friendly, and willing to deal. I made a deal and its the way I like to deal. Gun was priced, whats the least you will take? Gave me the number, I said hold on, pulled out the phone, went to GVB and searched around, looked on the lower end, said "If you will take so and so Ill walk out of here with it", he said "So and so plus tax?", good enough. If you do stop in there, ask for Josh, since Josh said if I mention the place everyone should ask for Josh. lol

Anyway, they have a Garand on the wall, it is a Springfield, it clearly is a Rack Grade, and the price is about $200 more than I would pay and about $200 more than CMP, but they do deal, and thats not far off from what I have seen Garands go for from those I have seen in other shops and definitely a lot less than shows. The stock looks pretty good, barrel shows some wear, of course I didnt have any gauges but would doubt from the looks that its a SG barrel,  and I looked at the Serial number but didnt write it down for date. One thing, there is a 427 hand engraved (With an engraver it appears) on top of the receiver. I think if I am not mistaken that they did that on receivers of guns that went out for ceremonial purposes, cant recall for sure. Someone else may know for sure.

Then they have a Ruger New Model Single Six Convertible (.22/.22Mag) with a 6 1/2 inch barrel. I see MSRP on these is $569, see them going used for around $450-$475, they are asking $425, but again, they deal. I would call that Ruger 90%+ easy. About the only wear I saw was on the crown of the barrel.

They also do layaway up to 10 months or one month for every hundred dollars spent. I also notice it might be a place to go to get some deals with a C&R.

That sound pretty cool, went to a cash America once and don't recall it even having guns. Of course, that was in middle Tn, back in 07ish and I had gone to a few shops that day looking for guitars.
Glad you found at least one place with a good layaway plan, I'd be curious to see if they will let you use your C&R license as I think most shops have an issue with that? Maybe someone here who works at one knows if its just a liability thing or what on that?
