I have my Ar-15 up for sale right now. Its a custom built AR with less than 100n rds down range. Spikes m4 1:7 twist barrel, Aero upper and lower, quad rail, magpul sights, etc. I've wanted a .308 semi gun for a long time now. And a guy has this he is willing to trade for my Ar and 6 mags.

This is his: Century arms 308, 5 magazines, 500 rounds of .308, utg rail & grip, swivel bi pod, quick detach sight mount, and compensator.

And this is mine

So would you make this trade? Anything I should watch out for on the century guns? What kind of accuracy could I expect of a rifle like that? Thanks guys

Still nah, I'd pass. An FAL, whole different ball game, depending on the builder. I've read allot of negative reviews on Century. From what I've read, if they make a good one, its ok. If they make a bad one, its bad. Plus the design doesn't grab me over an AR. Who knows, maybe more comfortable, just doesn't look it. Then again neither does the FAL and I like those so... I guess It depends on whether you prefer to hear "pew pew pew", or "BOOM BOOM BOOM". :D

You can't say that to a young 'un. They grew up on those sissy rounds :)

Well don't know if that is a Cetme or not. If it is you need to try it out first. They used to be pretty cheep. I had one and it was a beast, good gun but heavy and stiff. Chambering a round took a fifty pound curl, lol. But I will tell you that beast never jammed.

I wouldn't do it. It's because of that rifle I will never do business with Century again.

I had a lot of issues with my CETME.  Century built that rifle and most were POS. The rollers were off spec and they ground the bolts on the rear to make them headspace. I finally got mine straight and traded it in. Took a beating.

I got a H&R Handi-Rifle I'll trade.  even throw in the scope and a gun-sock to sweeten the deal.

Not no but heck no. Roller lockers use a fluted chamber to aid extraction. It mangles brass. They are not well suited for reloaders.
Much more costly to feed. They don't have a gas system, which might seem like a good thing, but they have a really strange recoil impulse. And mine was the most belligerently loud SOB that ever was.
I hated mine.
If this was me, I'd walk away.

There likely is a reason he's wanting to trade it off.

More than likely the reason is because it is so ugly.

Sorry but I am partial to AR's so I would just keep it and pass on the trade.
