Thats just what the ad says...probably cause of the lead nose I guess. So yeah.

That's the only thing I can figure.

I know Kahr recommends against unjacketed ammo for that reason.

And yeah, they have "polygonal rifled" bores, whatever exactly that means.

Instead of traditional lands and grooves, they have more of a "hill and valley" type appearance. No sharp edges.

Thanks...okay, so now I know a little about it.

Interesting quote here, though from the the above:

Actually Kahr DOES recommend against lead bullets...I'd send comment but I'm not a registered wiki "editor"....

I also didn't understand that Glock uses polygonal rifling, as their specs all say "hexagonal" rifling, while Kahr says simply "polygonal" with no mention of how many "sides".

I looked at couple other gun sites (S/W and SA) but rifling not mentioned.

What is non-polygonal rifling called, just "rifling" with angles mentioned?

I think regular rifling is just rifling. If it talks about how many grooves it has, then it's referring to traditional rifling since poly/hex rifling doesn't have grooves.

Nevermind, it uses traditional. Also, once you add shipping to good ol' Dayton, it's still a dollar more than WWB, when ordering 200 rounds at least.

Gotta make sure it works before a huge order. I typically like to give ammo about 200 rounds of practice (100 rounds in two different guns) before a thumbs up or down.

Hexagonal rifling is polygonal rifling, simply specifying the number of sides (six).

.45 caliber Glocks have 8-sided 'polygonal' rifling, however, making them technically 'octagonal' rifling.

Niether is compatible with shooting large amounts of lead bullets, due to pressure problems when leading occurs. This has really only been noted in Glocks, to my knowledge, since they have problems with the pressure safety-factor of their barrels even with jacketed ammo in certain calibers. But, in small quantities... with proper cleaning... it shouldn't be a concern for any pistol. The disclaimer is just CYA against the token idiot who decides to shoot a case of the stuff through his Glock without brushing the barrel at a few intervals, and subsequently has a case rupture in his face.

+ 1.I have shot a gazillion (well maybe 20K) polymer coated (Precision,Master Blaster) bullets through my G21 with no ill effects.However I scrub the daylights out of the barrel every 500 rds.

They have some SUPER CHEAP 9x18 ammo, 8.75/box of 50. WOW. I will surely pick some of that up.
