Handgun permit status online?

Hey everybody! 

 

I've (I think, at least) jumped through all of the hoops to get my handgun permit. I submitted all the paperwork at the driver license station (this included the class completion certificate, because the instructor I used wouldn't submit it online for some reason), and then I got fingerprinted. This was about 3 weeks ago. 

 

I realize that it could take up to 90 days, but I notice after 3 weeks, there has been no change in the status online, not even in "safety school completion". I just show that I completed the online application and that I visited the Driver License Station. 

 

Has anyone else used the online status dashboard to check the status? I know I probably just need to be more patient, but if there's something I need to do to make the process move more quickly, I'd like to do it. How long did it take for the "Background Check" and then the "Permit Status" fields to populate? If you submitted a certificate for your safety school instead of the instructor submitting the score online, how long did that take to show up?

 I received my permit and had it in my pocket in 13-14 days! Okay now that i've flaunted that in front of you i'll tell you that I took the class some time ago, If you have taken the class, shown up at the DMV with proper paperwork and had fingerprints done then there is nothing to my knowledge that you can do besides waiting. I had a friend a short back that had to wait about 1 1/2 months for it to show up so that may give you some idea. I don't have any 1st hand knowledge on the online status check but I do know that things like that can make a wait seem 100x longer so my advice is to forget you ever saw the website unless you hit the 2-3 month mark and still haven't received it. just my opinion though.

Actually, I did, and the guy didn't have any interest in looking it up for me. He just told me to keep waiting.

I always spoke with, what sounds like, a young black woman is more than willing to find out for me. Go figger? Maybe ya should try, again, tomorrow.

So I just wanted to follow up on this topic. 

 

I finally got someone on the phone. They apparently misplaced my safety school paperwork and just got it input into the system today. The guy on the phone said, "Oh, yeah, that should have definitely been approved by now."

 

He clicked a couple things, and now it's approved.
