Glock 19C

Ever since I placed one of those small Post It Notes on the front sight of a compensated .357 revolver I never had another compensated handgun.  That was the tiniest confetti I have ever seen.  Which made me think, "if I had to shoot that gun close in to my body would gas and debris hurt my eye or my large nose?"

As Rusty stated, the G19's a pussycat anyway, even with +P+ loads.

Heck, my 90 pound, 13 year old niece has no issues shooting my Gen3 with 127-grain Ranger SXT's.

Unless you're getting a heck of a deal on it, why bother?

I had a 17C and was not impressed with it.  The recoil felt identical to the standard version, and cuts reduce your velocity a little, make the slide etc dirty (soot comes out the holes),  and it flashes over the slide right in the sight picture with the more flashy ammo.   It was as if the cuts were wrong -- I have shot some compensated guns that had a drastic recoil reduction, but not the glocks.

My two cents worth. Just don't thing a 9mm for personal protection use needs to be compensated. The G19 is one of the top sellers in America in stock form. I have not shot a Gen 4 gun but have read where they are a little softer shooting than the previous generations. Maybe someone with experience could comment on that.

Yes, the dual recoil spring is a little softer shooting.

Go for the 19C since it is what is for sale. I don think you will be unhappy, I also think the muzzle flash blindness is over played. The general opinion among compensated owners is that the C models are awesome, all around. They report no night sight blindness from shooting, supposedly the shooter never notices. Also the front sight post is supposed to stay clean.

Right.  While I was not impressed with the compensation,  the gun was fine.  If I had to pick between regular or C, I would go regular, but if the C is on sale, I would get the C.

Bright lights of any sort mess with me, and I did notice, but likely, as said, a normal person would not be too offended by it.  If you are shooting at night in a situation, you probably have no flash ammo anyway.   When it was bothering me, I was shooting cheap "big orange flame" stuff and I could see the after-images of the flash in daylight.

I have a 19c gen 3. I have the ss guide rod and recoil buffer. Recoil on this is nothing. Shoots awsome. Flash is not bad, the ports are angled so it does not disrupt sight picture. I love mine and wouldnt take anything for it.

I agree with some of the others above. The 19 is such a soft shooter,I don't think compensation is necessarily needed either. However, if you're getting a good deal on this particular Glock, I'd go buy it. If you find you don't like the compensation, you could always drop in a lone wolf barrel or stock Glock barrel and then you have the option to fire either way.

I carry a G23C and have no issues with it... i bought it new though and was only like 20 bucks more so i said what the heck... but if it's an amazing deal go for it... if not keep looking... i wouldn't by a used glock for much over 400 bucks unless it came with a slew of extras

My wife has a G19C and has had it for almost 8 or so years.......no issues with it at all but we have a LoneWolf barrel in it now as that makes it easier for cleaning after range time. The 19C was the optimal choice years ago for her but after a while the "C" just wasn't needed. Now it's just a G19 with a lightened slide.  :pleased:
