2014 Off Season Support Group Deer Season Thread

Recommended Posts

I never have either Luke. Just keep seeing all the Facebook posts of sheds people are finding and wanna try too. I figure fence rows, and trails will be a good start and then try randomly searching if nothing else works.

After season was over I found an insanely long rub/scrape line as well as a handful of other very active areas which might be a good spot to look around for sheds. I won't have time in the next month and a half but if you wanted a busy area to poke around looking for sheds you are more than welcome to come wander around. There around 130-140 acres to search but I can get you in the vicinity. My youngest sister is getting married in 5 weeks and about any spare moments I might have between now and then will be consumed by prepping for the wedding.

Well the offer still stands but i'm almost certain that you don't want to fight the ticks and briers over the sheds that might be found huh.

That and most by now have probably been nawwed up or covered in weeds. Haha

I'd say the weeds around here do a fair bit of the work on them. The machine I was using to clear some ground up here just got picked up but hopefully I'll be able to get it back around mid to late summer to do a bit more and to work the ground to get ready to plant. I am thinking about planting a few things for this summer as well if I get time to.

Well fever is starting to set in... Saturday when I was leaving my folks property I came by one stand and saw 2 bucks in velvet. One was no more than 30' from me and stood still as I backed the truck up to get a better look. Anyone else seeing any velvet yet?
