Potential buyer arrested during TBI background check

I've seen a lot but never this: I went to a big box store to see if they had a scope mount I was looking for. After searching I went to the gun counter and waited while the clerk was busy w a 4470/ background check. The purchaser was someone in a wheelchair that kept dry firing a small 380 or something. The clerk explained he didn't know why it was taking so long for TBI to clear the purchase. Seeing he was free I inquired about what I was looking for and got the answer I didn't want. As I was browsing the aisle a uniformed guy from the pd showed up and at first I thought was going to disarm a young customer who was open carrying in the store. Instead the officer chatted w the person in the wheelchair, put her in cuffs and wheeled her out of the store. Apparently there was a warrant in the system for the buyer. TBI sounded general quarters and the pd showed up... Interesting to see them all being proactive on a Sunday ! !

I agree we will never see this make the news. If she would have been able to purchase the gun and then they found out later about selling a gun to someone with a warrant that would be national news. But when the system works nothing :(

A close friend of mine owns a pawn/gun shop & this happens on a regular basis. He says they call him back at the store & ask him to stall or talk about the weather while they call the police.

It could have gone public if the media had a lead but I choose to respect the process. Not my "yob" to report....I thought it could get crazy but it didn't thankfully the store handled it well as the clerk had no idea but the mgr knew what the deal was....
