AK caliber question

As  for 5.45 almost every manufacturer in RUSSIA makes non corrosive ammo for about the same price as 7.62.

The surplus is long from drying up. Almost all the former Soviet satellites made it. It has not come on to the market. There are several countries that still use it. Hornaday make it also with a V Max bullet..

The 5.45 is a fine round. I shoot it in AR and AK platform.

7.62x39- Get an Arsenal SAM7SF-84

5.45x39- Get a Waffen Werks AK-74

5.56/.223- Get a converted Saiga that takes AR mags

IMO, I would only want to go with a 7.62 because I like 30 caliber punch, and that is what the weapon was originally designed for.

7.62x39 would not really be all that affected by import bans, since there are domestic manufacturers for that type of ammunition.

5.45x39's supply would be hurt bad if an import ban were to pass. Already it's getting kinda hard to feed my AK74, and there's only one domestic manufacturer that I know of, and Hornady is expensive.

Most of 5.56/.223 is produced here anyways, and if you get one that takes AR mags, you will be able to interchange mags and ammo.
