Gun Shops that allow layaways?

My all time favorite number one gun shop offered layaways. I rarely did business with any other shop than this particular shop for the way he did his layaways. He had pretty much whatever I wanted and if he didnt he would get it. The layaway allowed me to buy more expensive guns than I normally would. I do have an "allowance", the wife is in accounting and handles the finances and I like it that way. And I could just let the money sit, but as another member mentioned in another post he had that "want something new" thing going on, if I wanted to save for say an M1A and a good 1911 popped up for what I had saved for the M1A, then Im buying the 1911. in the case of the layaways, Im too cheap to lose a dollar and I like being able to continue doing business so if I put something on layaway, I'm committed. This shop does layaways on 3 month terms with 10% down, thing is if you are a good customer and something comes up, you dont lose anything going past the 90 days, as long as you pay something so that when he looks at the cards so that he still knows you want the gun.I know people who ran into medical issues and took 10 months to finish paying but as long as they paid something, they didnt lose any money or their gun. Because of the way he treated his customers, I did a lot of business with him, never went past the 90 days but knew that if I had to, no loss. At the same time because of the way he did business, I didnt mind paying a little extra on a gun for the convenience.

So, any shops in the area like that? knoxville, Chattanooga, Cleveland, Athens, say within 75 miles of Chattanooga? For me it would be well worth it to take a ride, and pay a little extra for that convenience.

Have found a couple of places, 4 weeks isnt layaway, thats buy a gun and pay for it, if I were to pay for a $2000 gun in 4 weeks I would just pay for it.

Posey Gun & Pawn in Cleveland, but I think it's only 60 days (I could be wrong... Might be 90). I'm pretty sure they would allow longer if a situation came up. Good people to do business with and a good selection.

Sportsman's Warehouse in Chatt also does layaway. Edited by Batman

Yea, that I know, but I said I would be willing to pay a LITTLE more.....lol

Been into Poseys once for a transfer, might have to stop in there next week again. They had a lever gun on that wall of lever guns I would have liked to have had, the Rossi Stainless.

Nice handgun ain't it. Did you see it at the last knoxville gunshow? If so you must have looked me right in the mouth. All their prices include tax and tbi, so the price on the sticker is otd. And they normally have a little room on some of their guns.

I've seen that Rossi stainless at Poseys... nice gun. I've got my eye on a couple used guns there.

Tolivers Pawn in Manchester does, that would be right on the edge of the 75 miles. They offer 3 months 10% down. There gun prices are marked lower than any other shop I have been to and if you dont put it on layaway they will usually knock a little more off the listed price without you even asking what there best price is. It used to be hard to get someone to show you a gun when they were busy, but now that they have moved all the gun stuff to the back room its like a small gun shop. They dont have the selection of a full on gun shop and its not the place to buy ammo, but they sell new and used guns.
