When you're sitting up in that tree stand

Recommended Posts

Wow! Last year I had a HUGE owl flying through the trees for about an hour. Kind of forgot about him and turned around to find him sitting on a branch about 10 feet in front of me at eye level! He just stared at me for about 20 minutes. At first I thought "How cool is this!" Then I started thinking, "Is he sizing me up!?!?" HA HA Guess he may have been. If I hadn't been chewing on a chicken leg, he might have thought me a formidable opponent

(The last sentence was made up obviously lol)

Poor hunter. I hunt out of a ground blind. I don't like heights very much lol.

Since I'm starting to have more and more problems with my legs, and climbing stands are getting hard to do, I'm going to start hunting from one.

In my culture, owls represent death...

Sent barefoot from the hills of Tennessee

I don't let the owls bother me. But I do get a little concerned when the buzzards land in the trees and start "sizing me up" as rugerla1 says. No thanks!
