Drago customer service review

A little while back I picked up a 36" Drago 2 rifle case. The case is made of quality materials it seems and i've been happy with it with the exception of one thing. The case came with backpack straps which I find handy and a lot of time saves a trip to the truck since both hands are free but the first time I had the case out I heard a tearing sound but upon inspection couldn't figure out where it came from. The 2nd time out I heard the sound again and dropped the bag to inspect it again and found that the fabric that the D-ring is attached to was tearing away from the case a bit. There were several rows of stitching so I went on and forgot about it until it's 3rd trip to the range when it almost completely tore off. Now there was about 1/3 of the last row of stitching left so I decided to write the folks at Drago. I basically told them that I loved the case along with what I have outlined here and finished off by saying that if they would provide me with an email address, I would be happy to send pictures of the problem. The next day I received and email asking for a picture which I sent right out to them and the following morning I had a reply. They apologized for the trouble and asked for my mailing address so that they could get a new one on the way. I sent them the address this morning and got to thinking, they never asked for the original to be returned so barring some special return instructions with the new case I am left with both cases.

I was never left wondering if they would take care of the issue and they never questioned how I had been using the case or how much stuff I had packed into it, they just said a new one is on it's way.

I like dealing with companies that treat me right and also like to pass it on when they do (or do not in some cases) so buy Drago products with confidence knowing that they will stand behind their product should something come up.

So did they include label to return the original, or not ask for it back?

I have one of them also:

Mine is the same color even. I haven't received the new one yet but I didn't buy direct from them so they have no way to bill me and they did not make any mention of returning it. Regardless of whether or not they have any way to bill me, if they ask for the old one to be returned it will be returned but I figure they know it had a defect so why pay even more money to have a defective case returned. We shall see hopefully in a few days.

Just meant that sometimes when a company replaces something, they send the new one first, but ask for the old one back, and include a pre-paid shipping label for return, even when you didn't buy it from them.

I've had more than one do this, Tapco comes to mind with some Mini 14 mags. Although, yeah, one could of course stiff them.

I've also had a few companies send a prepaid return label with the replacement but it was always mentioned before hand. There may very well be a label in the package when it arrives but I was just impressed that they either aren't expecting it back or aren't asking for it back. I was afraid that in order to get a new case, I would have to send this one back and be without my case until they received it and sent out a replacement. I guess so many companies worry more about protecting themselves from the few trying to get one over on them than they do about taking care of the rest of us. I don't know whether that shows the lack of integrity out there on the part of the consumer or level of poor business practices or a combination of the two. Drago has created a repeat customer in me. OS, today I got the answer to our question as to whether or not Drago would include a return label for the defective case. Evidently I get to keep the case because after searching the box and behind the label on the outside I have found no return label. Either way, their customer service was top notch but them not asking for the old one in return is a definite bonus. They never even asked for a purchase receipt which is a good thing since I never received one. I bought it from a vender at the pro/am 3gun match at Rock Castle as a cash deal so I handed them the cash and they handed me the case with no receipt.
Has yours been satisfactory?

Has yours been satisfactory?

Yeah, but I've been a bit careful about carrying it with only one arm strap, don't think a single one will stand up to weight of 2 ARs and buncha mags and ammo and whatnot.

No, but I find it's the most convenient way to pick it up and carry short distances.

I agree. VooDoo makes a case with one shoulder strap but it looked much tougher than even their own two strap models. If you ever are in the market for a new case that might be the one for you.
