I'm no spanish scholar and I'm sure there are others who speak/understand MUCH better than I.

Very roughly, I think it says, "Congratulations, you have been chosen as the winner of $60,000 and a new 2008 Toyota Hialux (whatever that is...)" and the number at the end is to "claim your prize".

Sounds like a "hook" to me...:-\

FWIW a Toyota HILUX is a like a tacoma, except a lot cooler! basically its the small/midsized toyota pick-up sold everywhere in the world except the US and Canada. and you can get them w/ a diesel!

Yes, what they all said.

What is disturbing is that this came on your phone as a text message. I am not a big texter, but this would cost me money everytime one is sent. I know you can file a report or whatever with your carrier, but in all honesty, I have a lot better things to do with my time than deal with the cellular people. I hope this is not an emerging trend.

I belive snopes.com may have some info about this? If I am remembering correctly, they will try to get you to call an international number, then hi-jack your phone...ie:you would end up with a ton of calls charged to this number.

I am not sure if I am remembering all the specific details correctly, but it seems that I have heard this from snopes, or maybe even Dateline...etc?

Check out this link...the text thing is called " smishing "

It is a scam apparently.....for those foolish enough to fall for it.

You're all suckers. I received an email recently from a fellow in Africa who said a relative of mine passed away and left me a large amount of money! Holy sh*t my lucky day! I gave him all the info he asked for and he said the deposit would happen very soon. Boy I can't wait. I'm gonna be so rich. :stir:
