place in west tennessee for big deer

I am just starting out deer hunting around my home I've ways hunted in central missouri and I'm just getting to know the area in lower hatchie and i been wondering where in west tn would a good place for bigger bucks like on a wma or nwr thanks

The biggest deer in West TN that I know of is at Ames Plantation but its not easy or cheap to get into.  They have a full time wildlife biologist that manages it.  They also have the national bird dog competitions there.  Deer must be 125" or larger for you to shoot.  Really is a fantastic piece of property!  Thousands of acres.  As far as a WMA goes, maybe the Wolf River WMA?

Perry and Giles have always been two  of the big deer areas. Hard to get access to a place to hunt, though. Ft Campbell  grows big deer, if you want to jump through the hoops to get a draw.

Hey 79, hate to be the one to break this to you but BOTH Giles and Perry countys are in Mid TN.

Don't know of any WMA's in Carrol Co. but they usually harvest some big deer every year. Milan Arseanal Gibson & Carrol Co. maybe possible not sure, or of what hoops one may have to jump through to go there. But as xj showed before LBL has always had some nice deer. A good friend of mine took a NICE ten point there quite some years back there.

Ive heard chickasaw nwr and john Tully has some good deer. I've always dreamed of hunting reelfoot its like a second home. anybody got any big deer at Shelby forrest?

Sir; anywhere and everywhere where Whitetail deer occur, there is potential for "big deer". Study deer habits and habitats of "mature bucks" and hunt those areas. Just a word of advice here; bigger is not necessarily better when it come to deer hunting. Big bucks are nice though. Just go hunt and shoot some does and help us control the deer population.
