What does you mold cast as is?

Some feel you can push a .311 into a .308 bore.

Dolomite will chime in here and let ya know what he does.

In my .308 Saiga I push a .311.

Sub sonic might be something a bit diff.

I have no idea I've never really done. A friend of mine agreed to cast me about 50 experimentals before I bought all the equipment to do it myself. He actually has my mold at his house.

Wow. I hear crickets.

Like Superman said, I'd go .309, but measure your bullets as cast first. If they're good and round and not over .310 or even .311, I'd skip the extra step of sizing them.

I was told that if you could push the bullet down the bore of the rifle with mild to medium pressure it wasn't necessary.

If you are going by my post, I push the boolit with a powder charge, it is fired out of the barrel.

You will not be able to "push" with a rod and your hand, beat it out with a hammer.

Do not try to use a hammer and rod, you will get it stuck.

"Slug your barrel", google it.

Slug your barrel and get someone with a micrometer to measure the bore and groove diameter.  Come back with those numbers and an experienced caster can advise what size bullet is required for good fit and no leading.
