Probably will be another confirmation that the people of our country are ready to totally surrender their liberties and freedoms to the commies running the nation.

Well, if he is that sorry, he is another way the ACA can be defunded. I'm waiting, but not holding my breath.

This whole thing just pisses me off.  Lots of folks, including some of my friends, have received their cancellation notices, and they can't even turn around and signup for healthcare on the ACA website.  This is such a crock of crap.  My fellow TGO nerds and I could have build the ACA site and it would have worked!  Last I heard they were barely over 300 signups.  My five year old could build a website to handle 300 registrations!

Yep, people are gonna start feeling the pain of Obama's energy policies before too long. But all he will do is tell his sheeple that he feels their pain, and keep making it harder on the middle class putting more people into poverty.

Well he told a small part of the truth for once. He said he is sorry and I never thought he would admit he's a sorry President. As I think back in the beginning of this nightmare his goal I think was to get the 15 or so million folks that could not afford insurance to be able to purchase a cheap plan. We should have known right then that we were screwed. Well maybe he should have read the dam thing before he signed it in stead of listening to the BOTOX Queen standing next to him that told him "You  have to sign it to learn whats in it." He has not got those 15 million insured and now he has millions more he needs to find affordable insurance for and the numbers are growing every day.  Thing is now if it does crash and burn like many folks think it's going to all of the people that have lost their coverage will all be at the mercy of their original insurance companies and double or triple the rates they were paying................jmho

All the bandwidth claims are just canards.

The problem is that there are hooks that have to query a bunch of different databases to confirm age, residence, income, state subsidy allowances, the insurance companies databases, gawd knows what all. These, like eBay when it first became unwieldy, are all cobbled and patched with a variety of programming languages and apps. Took eBay itself years to finally streamline things to run slickly, and the gummit is trying to do it with one fell swoop. Plus, it's the gummit.

I was reading one analyst who said that even all the folks who had signed up for Medicare or one of the actual ACA insurance participants through the "successful" few state exchanges, are only in actuality signed up provisionally, that the submitted data wasn't actually verified through any of the federal databases.

And even in the state exchanges, I believe it was Oregon's, had a single digit mistake that allowed thousands to qualify for Medicare or extremely low cost ACA coverage, when in fact they didn't qualify at all, and notification is being sent out via snail mail that they have to do it again.

In short, besides the basic fail of the economics of the law itself, this is simply too big a job of data correlation for the US Government to handle, especially since they've obviously selected subpar insider contractors to implement it.

And you can bet your ass that paper registration will be no solution. Can you imagine that nightmare, when you can't even get a NFA stamp in a year, and you're actually paying for it upfront?

Some faulty assumptions here.  First, the assumption that Obamacare was all about insuring the uninsured.  It wasn't, it is a vehicle for the government to nationalize health care.

Second, that fixing the website will fix the problems.  It won't - once the websites are running and the employer mandate becomes effective, between 1/3 and 1/2 of Americans will find they cannot afford insurance.  That's part of the plan - those who cannot afford insurance will be paying the penalty.  Let's not forget that Obamacare guts Medicare Advantage.  'Single Payer' will become a necessity.

Lastly, don't confuse access to insurance with access to healthcare.  Many facilities and healthcare professionals will not be able to continue in the Obamacare business environment.

One reason there are so many RINO's willing to buy off on Obamacare 'under the table', is the rising costs of medicare, social security and various welfare programs.  The moneys paid into the system are long since gone, leaving the government with a whole bunch of IOU's.    Impossible to pay back retirees that paid in without destroying the vote-buying handouts.  Obamacare helps from both ends of the problem - both reducing and transferring healthcare costs from the government to the people, and reducing the life expectancy and associated costs of those who are no longer a good source of revenue.  The entrenched elite of both parties have no particular desire to get off the gravy train they've been riding the last 65 years or so.

There's a quote for the ages.

Although to be fair, "the government has a country" applies to at least half the world. It's just that the Great American Experiment has joined them.

"I am sorry that they are finding themselves in this situation based on assurances they got from me,"

So either you lied or you didn’t know WTF you were talking about. Now step up and do the right thing.
Of course that won’t happen.

Obama the POTUS and Obamacare both were designed and deliberate efforts by the progressives/socialists/communists that are in control of the government to totally destroy the economy, healthcare, the middle class, capitalism, the military, and the American Constitution. In three to ten more years you will not recognize the America of the past that most people have known, but instead a tattered Amerika ready to join the One World Order. Simply put, Obama is America's first communist president who destroyed the American exceptionalism that he so much hates. He campaigned and promised to fundamentally transform America, and he has fulfilled his promise.

Obamacare affecting Medicare now...

When Obamacare was originally rolling towards approval in Congress back in 2010 one of the bones of contention was that the Democrats would cut $719 billion from Medicare in order to help fund Obamacare. Of course Obama and company scoffed (while following through on the Medicare cuts earlier this year.)

Now insurance companies are telling their Medicare enrollees that they won’t be able to see their doctors anymore thanks to Obamacare funding siphoning from Medicare.  Of course Democrats are trying to put the blame back on the insurers.

Balderdash. It may well happen, but it hasn't yet. If it does, they'll just allocate more funny money for it, what's 3/4 of a trillion more or less any more anyway?

Only true thing so far is that there were already fewer doctors each year taking new Medicare patients, and that will probably accelerate significantly. Or not.

Could be enough new docs from other countries probably willing to start out taking every patient they can, just like the fresh crop from law school each year that pay the basic bills with lower paid court appointed criminal cases. 'Course you may have to learn Hindi or Indonesian, or Arabic or something to communicate with them.

If we don't die from lack of American doctors and rationing, then it looks like our Arab enemies will kill us off posed as doctors. Odds of us young codgers living to be older codgers seems to be getting higher.

Yeah, maybe, hard to know. Short of cure for cancer and cloning spare parts, we may have pretty much maxed it out anyway.

Personally, can't claim to know how I'll feel at the time, but I don't think I'd be willing to keep on ticking in the shape I see so many folks not much older than me. I just "pray" I keep enough brain power to be able to decide -- dementia is the real living dead.
