Cerakote coating experience

I was at the gun show and ran across Cerakote coatings from a local company in Knoxville TN.

 

Do any of you have any experience with this coating or know anything about it? It looks like a great product and I would be curious to learn what ya'll have to say about it.

Yes. Very good product IMO. They are quite a pain though. Must be absolutely clean, parts must be media blasted and it is bake on. While Cerakote is much stronger than Duracoat, Duracoat does offer a basic clean and spray for air dry option.

Boils down to a couple of things: 1. Do you already have the equipment and if not how much are willing to spend? (media blaster, media box, airbrush and compressor) 2. How detail oriented are you? 3. Durability vs ease of application.

I had 2 of my handguns Cerakoted a year and a half to two years ago and am very pleased with the results. It has held up well.

 

I wish I had the facilities to do it myself. I have lots of things I'd love to apply it to.

Thanks for the input - I would have the local company do it for me. I do not have any facilities to even attempt such fun.

Dig it - thanks  - I like the rust test they website shows. It is pretty impressive.
