Just another act of complete stupidity

School is stupidest here. Really banning for posting picture a permit on facebook? But the lady isn't too bright either. She's running a really close second for posting that on facebook.

I mean, really? Posting personal information like that on FB?

But then I'm not a facebook fan anyway. So what do I know. I don't fb. If I want to broadcast my life for all the world, I'll write a dull autobiography.

I don't get the question, how was she stupid? The principal is clearly a little mamby pamby, but from I got out of the story, the lady in question was barred for posting a picture on Facebook. Posting a picture, on Facebook. Really?! Maybe I wouldn't do it but I'd call it a bit reckless at best. Plus for all we know she blurred her address out, in which case it's really no big deal.

Had she been going on campus armed or making obscene/threatening remarks, then whatever but in this case it seems shady. There's also no mention whatsoever as the context of the post, just reference to some other mundane posts.

Keep in mind she was banned from a PUBLIC school because of a post involving having a carry permit on the Internet and the stupidity seems pretty one sided to me. Plus she is asking for a public apology? As appossed to a financial law suit? The school board should dismiss the principal and start puckering up and kissing her butt.

Another case of stupid is as stupid does. Why would anyone post a copy of their carry permit on Face Book of all places for the whole world to see? Like hipower, I am not a Face Bookie either. My daughter set up an account for me and I have tried 100 times to delete the damn thing and cannot get it done. It;s like once they trap you your trapped for life. I get emails from people all the time wanting to be friends and I just delete them without even opening any more. I love my daughter but sometimes she can be a pain in the butt and this is one of them.............

I started an account after some of my relatives badgered me into it for "easy communication." As I got into it, I realized how much I really, really disliked it. Stopped and never went back. Told them all if they wish to talk with me...there's a device called a telephone.

I have an idea... Let's turn this into another Facebook is evil thread!

There has to be more to this story since I really doubt that the principal monitors each student and parent's Facebook page.

Yeah Facebook is kind of a PITA sometimes, like how many times do I need to see you post what you had for supper???

But many of us here on TGO include the info that we have a TN HCP, NRA member, Military service, Law enforcement, should we be banned from schools because of that?

NO!

Should we have to remove that info we want to share?

NO!

IMHO the school is totally in the wrong here.

The facebook posting was stupid.

The principal of the school wasn't stupid because stupid doesn't come close to describing her words and actions.

The officer told her that the principal at the school was “scared” of her and did not want her on the school property, she told the station.

WJBF.com asked Janina Dallas, the school's principal, if the "no trespass order" was issued over the post, and Dallas responded: "Yes, it was."

"It is my duty and responsibility as the principal of this school to ensure the safety and security of all of our faculty, staff and students," Dallas told WJBF.com.

The principal seems to suffer from an irrational fear and her mental health should be questioned. This person doesn't have the judgement required to oversee children. She needs to find a career that doesn't involve contact with the big scary public.

I agree with everything said about the principal, I am going to hold judgment on the Facebook posting as we still haven't got any idea as to the context of the post. If be willing to bet that many facebookers here have done or said things on there that amount to the same thing, maybe just without pictures. Plus it's few along Facebook, why shouldn't she share if she wants to? It's not her responsibility to try to foresee if some people may or may not be offended or even scared by her posts.

I mean come on, she was BANNED from a PUBLIC school that she not only helps pay for but one that serves a public she has stood up and served through her military service.

Still seems like the stupidity is pretty much one sided to me.
