Watch out there TankerHC, that's Julie Borowski, the "Token Libertarian Girl". Listen to too much of what she's got to say and you'll find yourself defending the "spoiler" candidate.

Must not have read the recent thread on the Virginia spoiler Candidate. Ill say one thing. The only thing that keeps me from IDing with the Libertarians is their stance on National Defense. I can no longer ID with Republicrats at all. Some Republicans are really Constitutional Conservatives, but are stuck calling themselves Republicans because they could never get elected to anything by calling themselves Constitutional Conservatives.

I could give a rats behind on anyones stance on marriage or drugs, those things are what they are, but National Defense, Border Security and Illegal Immigration and the Budget are what matters. The Libertarians are batting 75%. If only.......

Another problem I see with the Libertarians I know personally and see is that most of them are honest and ethical and have a problem not telling the truth, which is why they rarely win elections. Maybe if they started cheating and lying like the other scum (Notwithstanding Sarvis who is not a Libertarian but a Democrat Shill) they could start winning elections.

Personally I wold rather have a Libertarian friend who is honest and ethical and whose party cannot win an election than a lying cheating Republicrat who can win elections by lying anc cheating (Not saying there are not tons of honest Republicans, there are, just not running for public office and those who do soon end being honest and ethical, Boehner proved it

Ahh, I believe I misread your intent in the other thread as being a criticism of third party candidates in general in addition to that one in specific.

There is criticism of third party candidates. Not because they are third party candidates or of any party, anyone can start a Party and run. The problem is when a third party candidate runs, KNOWS they are going to lose, KNOWS they are going to cost votes regardless of what anyone says about a third party candidate not costing votes, then knowing full well they will cost the Conservative (In the case brought up) refuses to bow out thereby putting a Progressive, Socialist, Democrat in power.

They dont run serious campaigns, they talk a lot on the web and tell everyone how great they are, you see them post all over near election time, watch any of the Conservative sites and see the Libertarians come out in droves, watch the polls and see them barely show up. Thats the problem I have. If they were serious, why arent they out there really campaigning. There should be enough of them (From what I see year after year) to get a Candidate elected to a major office. 10% of a voting electorate is a big block, but you dont get elected with 10% of a voting block. The Tea Party forms, and 2 years later takes the House. The Libertarians have been around 41 years and the best they can do is a single Libertarian Congressman whos only claim to pass his own Bill helped a right of way for an expensive subdivision in Texas?

I WANT to see the Libertarians start winning. Nothing would make me happier than to see a 3 Party Congress with Constitutional Conservative's and Libertarians making the rules and Dems sitting on the sidelines.

But until they get serious as a party, they wont be taken serious. Talking online, taking 10% and not getting the word out does not win elections.

I wonder how many of the people who argue online for their candidates go knocking on doors, volunteer to answer calls, (Which you can do at home), donate 5 or ten bucks or attend the rallies?

If your going to wear the hat, wear it, if your going to talk about it but do nothing then expect no results because thats what they will get.

They need to take a lesson from the tea Party playbook.

You don't think that Sarvis guy is a spoiler? He's about as Libertarian as McAuliffe.

Have you heard about this?

A major Democratic Party benefactor and Obama campaign bundler helped pay for professional petition circulators responsible for getting Virginia Libertarian gubernatorial candidate Robert C. Sarvis on the ballot — a move that could split conservative votes in a tight race.

Campaign finance records show the Libertarian Booster PAC has made the largest independent contribution to Sarvis’ campaign, helping to pay for professional petition circulators who collected signatures necessary to get Sarvis’ name on Tuesday’s statewide ballot.

Austin, Texas, software billionaire Joe Liemandt is the Libertarian Booster PAC’s major benefactor. He’s also a top bundler for President Barack Obama. This revelation comes as Virginia voters head to the polls Tuesday in an election where some observers say the third-party gubernatorial candidatecould be a spoiler for Republican Ken Cuccinelli.

Well, she surely well espoused quite a few of the conservative points of view regarding ACA detriments in that one.
