I know who Guy Fawkes is, accidently ran into a Guy Fawkes party in England back in the 80's, before that I didnt know who he was. I recall last year they were saying something about wanting to do away with the Guy Fawkes celebrations (Why I cant remember), about the time they banned several books from Libraries written by military observers of the Union and Confederate Army's because they said that the war was not at all about slavery and other "nonsense".

 

Freemantles book was one of the first to be banned from Public Libraries. Wonder how long before Guy Fawkes day is banned for something stupid like promoting terrorism?

 

I think it may have even been banned before, but came back because they couldnt stop the people from celebrating.  (Give Brits and Americans a reason to drink and blow stuff up and they are going to drink and blow stuff up)

 

I would say the same about the other English speaking people but they would just say "Aye mate, we drink and blow things up every day, we dont need a special day for that, we go to d that thing to make money to go back to our jobs, drinking 4 X and blowing things up...and cracking heads...have a 4X mate and blow something up...lets go crack some heads".

 

So no sense in pointing out the Australians. :x:

Seriously? Some people get all the cool names. There was a thread here on this a while back, I went and looked up my first name on popularity, in the 50's and 60's it was in the top 10, today it doesnt even make the top 100.
