Martin, CEO in Nevada (And SIL of the owner) posted today their first CNC machine arrived today to Rock Island USA headquarters and they are tooling up to make Rocks in the US.

 

Wonder if there will be a difference in their standard guns? Their Custom Shop puts out some pretty nice 1911's.

Question I wonder about will it increase the cost or stay relatively the same as that is truly RIA's selling point is their lower price point.

I'm guessing the US made ones will be more expensive, and they'll continue to import as they have been. Just a hunch, and hopefully I'm wrong. I think I'd just about rather have the import and the decades of knowledge by those who manufactured it. Edited November 4, 2013 by CCPT

Martins original post. Looks like they will start making them in a year. Thats what they said about the TCM 1911 and 7 months later you could order one, then the same thing he said about the .22 TCM Bolt rifle and (Said 2 years) and 10 months later he had a photo posted and a 30 day announcement. (BTW, that .22 TCM rifle is a beautiful gun)

I have/had a few of thier 1911's and they are all good guns. I hope the USA versions are as good and not over priced. The only thing I didn't like were the grips, to me they were cheap, but guns function perfectly.
