Sure you can, but if something happens and you actually have to defend yourself from a threat you'll have one hell of a hard time trying to explain away how it was really self-defense... Thanks to that nifty sign

As far as I know, there is no legal restriction on putting that up, but it's a dumb idea.  Plus, if you actually shoot someone for trespassing, you will go to prison for a very long, long time.

I have one on my porch beside the front door that says "trespassers will be shot, survivors will be shot again". I have pointed it out to door to door salespeople. :)
I answer my door armed, because I know I didn't invite anyone over. I had a guy knock at 8p the other night. I answered the door pistol in hand. It scared him pretty well, but he managed to attempt his "sales speech". I asked for his door to door permit. I was astonished when he actually pulled one out! I thanked him for his courtesy and politely sent him on his way. He didn't see the sign, but he saw the glock. :)

Also be aware you cannot intentionally hurt or threaten harm to a person for tresspassing.

You may ask them to leave and not come back. You may defend yourself if attacked.

In dealing with tresspasser call the law, let them handle it and tell them you wish to press criminal charges.

 

Do not do anything stupid like point a gun at them or fire a warning shot, you will be in a deep pooh if you do.

 

Simply call the law, tell them you have a tresspasser(s) and ask them to respond asap.

I have the same sign as Jack, hanging on the car port roof.

My drive way is 1/8th mile long, and have the standard "NO TRESPASS" and "Beware of Dog"

at the end by road, if they get past the dogs they want something bad.

Being by nature a sneak, I conceal my .357 behind my leg when answering the door during daylight hours.  I don't respond to unexpected knocks after dark.

 

I haven't had a need for a sign yet.

Well actually, you'll be taking it all out of the bank and then some, selling your house and possessions and borrowing all you can for your legal defense and the suite that will surely follow.
