Law Tactical Folding Stock Adapter

I stumbled upon this product while watching YouTube and thought it was interesting. I'm curious about the quality as this seems like the kind of part that would deteriorate over time. I've watched a few videos and it appears that the rifle can be fired while the stock is folded and damages the adapter in the process. This, to me, is a concern but not a deal breaker.

Anyone at TGO have any experience with this product? Opinions, anecdotal or otherwise?

Newegg sells AR parts?

I see no use for this. More time consuming to deploy your weapon when every second counts, and in the long run, your adding more length. Cool concept, but not for me.

True, I hadn't thought about that. If I'm paying for range time by the hour it would be silly to waste time "deploying" my rifle.

I'm thinking about a folding stock more for storage and transport. Seems a folding SBR AR might fit in a briefcase-size pelican case...maybe not.

I was thinking more real world use. Stock might be folded in your car or truck to make it compact and easy to fit next to you, but when you need it you have to then unfold it, which means finding the space to do so, which takes time, then using it when needed. Things like that is what I consider with this. But then again, that's also my line of work. If it's a range gun, and you want it to fit into a compact case for your trunk, more power to you, but then it still adds more length in the end with the adaptor. This product just isn't my cup of tea. Edited by 173rdABN

Huh. When I posted this I really didn't expect a discussion about the merits of a folding stock. I see folding stocks on rifles all the time but I've never heard anyone question the use of them...

What I had never seen, due to the recoile management, is a folding stock on an AR. That pesky bolt moving into the stock makes for an interesting problem when you want to add a hinge, right in the middle.

If it's made well I don't see an issue. They make ARs now that you can remove the barrel and handguards without tools and carry them in a briefcase. Anyways I would imagine the hinge would have to be made pretty beefy.

Haven't seen any owners diss them on forums regarding construction quality.  Just whether it's worth the extra fiddling and expense to ya for your purpose.

The difference between this and most other side folders is that this modification renders your weapon inoperable until it's deployed and locked. That's an issue. Mind you, it's one no one hopes to encounter, but it's a deal breaker for me.

From my perspective, if you want a side-folding carbine, go with an AK.
